New Core Pump 2.0 released

CORE Kiteboarding completely redesigns the underappreciated
kite pump. Although our shiny new black pump features a longer
barrel, ergonomic hand grips, a single/double power stroke
switch and a digitally calibrated pressure gauge, its biggest
innovation hides inside. Internal pump friction is virtually
eliminated and the “Sand Guard” air filter prevents internal
kite damage from sand inhalation.

Although our kites do not need an adapter, we included one
anyways for those “other” kites. The new CORE Pump 2.0 is now
available for EUR 49.90 at your local retailer.

Key technical details:

1. No strain pumping
Save your energy for the water. Innovative materials, seals
and piston coatings have virtually created a frictionless
pump. We even increased the diameter of the hose outlet to
increase airflow and reduce pump strain.

2. Sand Guard
Sand belongs on the beach, not in your kite. So we built a
foam air inlet filter into the handle. Why, you ask? To
prevent sneaky sand from damaging your kite bladders and
reducing pump efficiency.

3. Single to double stroke inflation switch
More pressure with the turn of a knob. The last few pumps are
always the hardest with a 2 way pump. So we decided to give
you the option to switch from traditional double stroke to
single stroke pumping for the last bit of air.

4. Digitally calibrated pressure gauge
Perfect pressure every time without guessing. The new
digitally calibrated pressure gauge has a simple colour coded
scale to make precise inflation a breeze.

5. Longer barrel, longer stroke for more air volume
We extended the barrel a few centimeters from the previous
model to provide a more upright pumping posture. The
additional length also increases pump volume with each stroke.
Your back will thank you.

6. Ergonomic grips
Our longer, wider ergonomic grips make pumping a breeze. The
grips contour to your palm and fingers so you can leverage
your body weight without leaving marks.

7. Heavy duty pump tether with a nifty hook
Pumps are often neglected. So we built our new pump to last.
We even doubled the thickness of the tether and installed an
oversized hook. Because we understand.

Finally, a pump made for real life.

HA! Forgot to add a tilt adjustment to the base so you can angle it a bit forward for more comfortable posture.

Seriously, if it's 20 bucks I'll buy one.

it has mechanical analog pressure gauge with pretty crappy accuracy. what the hell "digital calibration" means?

whole point of this advertising is compose some sentences out of some words that seem smart

Typical Core marketing. Make a crappy pump with some useless extra features sound awesome, and ask big bucks for it

The hose is still the same old weak stuff as all the other pumps by the looks of it. The gauge is probably of the crappy type like all the other gauges, so calibrating it doesn't really mean shit. And since when is a 5m kite pumped on the same pressure as a 19m?

'Increased the outlet diameter for reduced effort' Let's add a filter so the effort is increased again

Good pumping action comes from the legs, so you can keep your arms and back straight. Let's make the pump higher

They should have included an extra adapter so you can blow it out you ass

The Germans will love it probably

Well, whether it is all bullshit or not, at least someone changed the pumps we have been using for 12 years (or whenever kiteboarding got away from those tiny little hand pumps). Seriously, other than graphics, 99% of companies use the exact same pump you can buy at Walmart. There has to be some room to improve the design marginally, to better tailor to our use. Years ago I tried an Ozone pump that looked different, but it turns out that was a bigger piece of sh*t then the ones everyone else used.

Be curious to see what others think when they try it.

$50 seems to be the going rate for a kite pump (that you can buy at Walmart for $20). The current conversion from EUR to USD yields $54, so the pricing is on par with everyone else. Maybe it's a bit better, give it a shot.

I'd have to agree that the text is mostly marketing bullshit though. Digitally calibrated means it was tested after manufacture with a gauge that had an LCD display instead of an analog gauge. And yes, if you have a sand filter you will have to remember to clean that guy out. No big deal though, I'm sure you can remove it if you don't like it.

You could even buy the same type of pumps (but with plastic shaft) for 5 euros. No need for a pumpleash (or a 'tether' how Core likes to call it. More fancy that way) because you can use your kiteleash if you want.

Really, it's a pump. A pump

Wow, the moldings are identical! So much for Core completely redesigning the pump. I guess they just added a leash...
