I did the same some a while ago but also replaced the yellow safety bungee line with one from Switch. The Naish line was too thick (especially the knot between safety line and front line) to go smoothly through the swivel in case of a release.

Great to read that, I've been thinking for a while to make the switch, only problem is finding a Wainman parts dealer around here (and shipping would cost almost as mush as the part)...
I'll wait to be back in Europe I guess.
Thanks Dirk for pointing that out... Thought I have to say that even with the original Naish swivel, the safety line does not pass smoothly. Did you mean that the hole on the wainman swivel is even smaller?
Also, read that Mutiny swivel was good too, but it seems that wainman would be the sure way to go.

Can you make a few pictures of it. Why is it better?

Allow me to answer that with this:

If you have a Naish swivel, you know that it works really only once out of 8-10 times....

The hole seems to be a bit smaller, the areas below it where the line runs along are tighter and the distance between the central hole where the line comes out and the pulley below it is less. The Switch safety line has about 10 cm of line at the top which is more like a flying line in thickness (it is thicker, though) which is then spliced into a thicker line which also has a bungee part. It is perfect and just costs 8 Euros.

I suppose you're talking about that: http://switchkites.com/singleflagsafetyline.html.
You'll then have to adapt the red ball to it, right?

Yes, that´s the one. I took the red ball from the Naish line and tied in a small metal ring below it for the leash to clip in. It is also a tad longer so you might want to cut off a bit at the bottom
