Rrd surfboard

Postby doc » Sun May 31, 2015 5:50 pm

Hi folks ,I've got an old Rrd pro wave 5'8" which I really like .Out of the surfboards I've tried it really eats the chop ,not great up wind but hey.
My question is what in the new range of there boards would replace it. I could do with something a tad bigger, being 85kg but don't want a flapping board . I live in Brighton travel to Wales a bit, but would mainly be used in South coast mush!
Cheers.

You should be looking at Maquina. I have the barracuda at 5.8 mainly strapped and using for high wind (above 25 knots) only I am 80kg... So I think 5.10 or 6 for you?

Hello,

For sure the Maquina is a very good choice, very polyvalent, for all kind of water conditions.
I would recommend the 5'11 or 6'11 for you, With L size fins set.

The barracuda is designed for strappless, very agressive and speed turn, aerial. A very good board, Check this video of Ralf Bachschuster here : https://www.facebook.com/ralf.bachschus ... 786287041/
Also, but different and more for strapless program (not tested yet with straps) you should have a look on the COTAN, wich is an amazing board! Very soft, very confortable, very good for choppy conditions, small waves to medium waves. Even if the tail seems quite large under the rear foot, it turns very easily and can be radical. Also a top surf for freestyle. I would recommend for you the 5'6" (28Liters) or the 5'8 (30 liters).

:o hello, no, absolutely not!! It seems this is only the glass, do you confirm?
Sure the board has not ripped on something (roof rail)?
I'm using this board quite a lot, and had also before a maquina with the same construction (made in Portugal) and no cracks at all...
