So these would work I think. Just get one long enough with a short enough thread to cut off and polish the end

https://www.bosunsupplies.com/welded-ey ... -standard/

I would go for the 5" x 5/16Ø with a 2" thread .. then cut off what you don't need and grind the end, polish it and VIOLA! Release pin

Edit... Actually these will be too bulky I just looked at a 5/16 and 3/16 bolt... way to big

It is already bend - just cut and polish end

3/16 straight terminal works fine for me since 2016.
Trim length a little so you don’t cut fingers on projecting end.
Bends etc are not needed.

Check 3D printed parts

http://www.shapeways.com/shops/jaystore
Could this be used as primary QR /not leash QR/ - it states its 300kg tested. Also do you DYNABAR - offers this minimalistic setup /just rope with ring/ and tube pin release as package.
I spend some time on your page and there is so many option that im lost. For example - when i buy harness its with spreader bar? And when yes which one?

many thanks.

Here is the best picture I have at the moment, it is before I trimmed the length of the pin so t would not stick out so far past the ball:

A similar pin and ball makes up the other half. The setup is detailed in old threads in this website, try “chicken loop bye bye” to start.

The part I used is a Loos cable eye end. Actually size 1/8” or 3mm I believe. Can be found online, example:

https://www.amazon.com/Cableware-EY1-3X ... p_s_a_1_11

Elastic is 1/8” shock cord and balls are nylon, both sourced from a sailing supply store. Ring is 4mm 25mm diameter. Balls around 30mm. Rope used is 4mm amsteel spliced and stitched with v92 polyester.
Setup is cheap and effective.

Keep in mind it is diy and all responsibility for safety and liability is with you.

Having 3 different Dynabar models you buy harness only and Dynabar you like.
The pin and mushroom handle can be used as primary QR, if you buy the sliding leash you can attach kite depower line to it or we can make a custom system using our low friction sliding ring.
