WTF? What's going on at Core?

Postby PinkNorthPride » Tue Jul 28, 2015 4:02 pm

One minute it was a nice simple brand, 2 kites, one colorway, super friendly kites built to last, no vices...

Now what do we have?

Wave kites, C kites, black kites... Railey boards with p-tex bases..

is this a Mercan market thing I wonder?

That C kite.. it looks a total biatch, who's going to buy that then?

I knew some Best riders were looking for a proper kite

Impact C kite

Wave kite

Rail Grinder (That's Grinder not Grindr for you North boys)

Lancing and Worthing riders with pier jumping tendencies need to take note...

As a German I´d love to love Core / Carved. Really.
But the guys (and particularly their Marketing) are so utterly bigheaded.... just a shame.

I´d actually like to try that new wave kite. But I promised myself to never ever touch any Core / Carved product. I´d hate myself.

Dude, as a Brit, who's dealt with 'Krauts' for over thirty years I know what you mean, but fundamentally you couldn't find a nicer bunch of guys, if there are issues, it's just improper use of none mother language stuff, arrogant/big headed? In real life, they most definitely are not.

Not that any of that should be part of a kite purchasing decision, which at the end of the day should be purely down to the quality of all parts of the build and flight capability then back up should there be problems and so far with Core and I've been selling them for just on a year now, they are second to none.

Prior to this I dealt with Yanks with whom I share a common tongue and a brand I thought could do no wrong until they totally shafted me in the worse possible and dishonourable manner you could imagine, so trust me when it comes to decency and honour, never mind shallow issues like big headedness and marketing bollox, these guys, like most Germans, come up tops every time.

So what happened with you and Slingshot then?

You hardly behaved yourself.

Sometimes people complain about something and the problem might just be their own personal attitude.

I have had nothing but excellent service, totally professional support, total satisfaction with product quality and design from CORE for over 5 years. I like things that are designed well and work well, whether it is a kite, a car, a motorcycle, etc...it just happens that German engineering has produced a lot of the best products in these categories. Okay...so I am half German myself, but the proof is in the pudding.

I think it is great that CORE is expanding their products. Hopefully it will get more of the market interested in their products, because they deserve the attention. This company is exemplary in their position of putting R&D and quality control ahead of superficial marketing tactics. I wish more brands would devote more time an energy into developing and offering well designed and reliable products. I agree that it is hard to make everyone happy all the time with limited color choices and such but if you want quality and performance it's pretty hard to go wrong with CORE. :thumb:

I'm yet to see Core make a mistake!! (Core team, don't take this as an invitation to prove me wrong.) I hear you NorthPink, but they are just throwing the dog a bone. The C-kite throwing, boot wearing cowboys or shit-kickers, whatever you eanna call them, need their kicks too! It's Core Democracy! You can stick to the XR line, but I know plenty of folks who love both, XR and GTS. The C-kite is a bit extreme, but... different strokes, never say never.

GTS 2 flapped like a seagull in strong winds, had it pumped rock hard, just hopped off my Vegas 9 which was still in the sweet spot and GTS2 9mtr was not rideable thought it was going to invert was a demo so I went back to beach and put down before I had to buy kite if anything happened was 20 to 22 knots that day and not gusty at all hair dryer steady. Love my Imp 5 tt, kites are not for me.

Air bunny what makes a kite extreme? I hate that word so over used. Extreme is more conditions you ride not a kite imho?
