11m kite

Do people actually use these? If so whats your quiver?? I recently switched from the 12/9/7 to a 12/10/8 quiver. Then i placed an order and they sent a 12/11/8 hummm... I guess the 11/8 would be good travel kites... Fyi- these are wave specific kites and im a hefty 190lbs

I just switched to 12/10/8 from 12/9/7 also with a 14.5 as my light wind kite. I weigh the same.
12 to 9 worked fine but I like 12/10 better. I personally hate being overpowered and love riding in the sweet spot(mid to high end of kite range). I would not keep the 11 and get the 10.

It all depends on the amount of pies that you have eaten. Plus the size of your board and local wind conditions and how realistic the number printed on the canopy is to the actual size.

I used to roll a 11, 8 combo. Now its 13,10,8,6. +12m foil aswell.

I know a bloke running 17,11,9,7,5.

Quite right, I've had all the sizes over the 12 past years and found the most popular 7,9,10,12 sizes never quite worked for me, I would have to put it down to that they had a limited sweet spot for my weight/conditions. For past 3 years I've been most happy with the 8/11 combo with a 5/14 for outer ends of wind range.

You really aren't providing any useful information here. The 11m XYZ kite doesn't pull as hard as the 10m ABC kite in low wind, bit it handles 2x kts better. Some kites use odd sizing, some use even. It completely doesn't matter. What wind can YOU use that 11m with YOUR board and weight? That's the only thing that matters.

PS. An 11 and 8 lithium would work great for you at your weight. I use them for waves exclusively. My 12 and 9 cover me from 15 to 35mph and my 9 sometimes more in a pinch.

11m is my favorite size of kite!! I fly the piss out of my several 11m kites all the time. I have several 11m kites for different riding styles.

My main quiver of kites are 8m F-One Bandit 8, 11m F-One Bandit 8 and a Blade 17m Fat lady and these cover me for everything from 10mph to 50 mph winds along with my 133 f-one acid board, 138 xenon laluz and a 5'10" mitu pro strapless surf.

I hate 12m kites plain and simple and refuse to own one. 11m kites are faster, smoother and jumps better. 12m is my taboo size. I know lots of people that fly 11m kites, its not uncommon and is a excellent size to own.

I thought all 12s where fat slow pigs also till I picked up a 12m flite. Incredibly fast and nimble kite for its size, its easily as fast as my 9m Switchblade..
