Look at the widths. One cm of width adds more surface area. In terms of stright light wind (not counting chop, upwind ability ect) winder tends to be better.

Loving my Stylus. More rocker than most light wind boards, good in chop and playful.
I had a Patrol, and maybe it was my stance , weight , whatever, but it was a serious squitter. Drove my nuts... otherwise a nice board.

@100 kg you Will not on l'y use It In LW, the only one of the two I heard of is the Axis but in 44 and the guy liked it very much.
But i know the Shinn king george, king gee now and the 48cm is very good in chop, I hit 1m chop in 20knots with an SB 12 when I should have been on my 9m and small board, well I had fun, in Guadeloupe, I hit the waves with it in 13-14 knots and 12m. I am 88kg...very nice board for larger riders who still need the planing surface when the wind gets around 15-20knots and the chop really builds up...

I am facing the same question - what lightwind board to go with. I am new to Kiteboarding and am currently riding a Cabrinha 14M Swtichblade kite and Ace 139 board. I am leaning toward the Cabrinha Stylus but am not sure what the ideal size would be. It is available in 145 x 45 / 155 x 47 / 165 x 48. Anyone familiar with the Stylus have a suggestion? I weight 185 pounds and live in the Tampa area of Florida.

tony fl ....if you want the most out of your 14m kite.....then 165by48
if you want the lowest possible wind......and your staying on a twin tip........then the biggest kite you can find and the 165 by 48
there ist much messing around in light wind ......the more power you have in your kite and the more efficient of a board you have will give you the best experience

I'm 100kg as well and been through this dilemma a few times. To be honest a lot of it is about how good your technique is. If you're not spot on go with a big board but I'm now on an Axis Vanguard 139x43 even on my 17m Contra and I'm no expert. The better option is to get a directional board with some volume, huge difference from a TT.

I weight the same and had the 155x47, great board, wish I kept it. Go med or large, you want maximum surface area for early planning in light wind.

CrazyFly Cruiser (145x48) and CrazyFly LW Cruiser (160x44) are both very good LW options. I use both of mine with just a deckpad (no footstraps).
