The good/bad manufacturers thread

Postby plummet » Mon Aug 31, 2015 10:05 pm

So....

What manufacturers have constantly high quality high performance and good customer service?

Inversely. Who has bad quality/performance and customer services?

Note: If you have a financial interest in the brand please do not comment. eg brand rep, sponsered rider, exclusive dealer. This is a thread for Joe blogs who has shelled out his hard earned cash on these products and has been either impressed of dissappointed.

Ive been using Naish and North since Instarted kiting. Definitely not cheap, but very high quality, of both gear and service.

35 + kites from 10+ brands and I've liked all but a couple.

Have had very few quality issues. One pulled to the side, One leaked, three popped.... Thats about it really.

Knock on wood!

You just said a whole lot of nothing.

Out of the 10 brand and 35 kites which brand do enjoy the most? which the least?

Like most posts, its the same trolls not really giving any usable information. Funny how about less than 10 people do probably 90% or more of the posting. I think most of the large brands have good control and we do not see complete duds anymore just random mistakes. For me the most important thing is not that it happened but how do they stand behind their product. If you kite alot sooner or later you will get something that should have been recalled or replaced no questions asked in or out of warranty. This is the decider for me. I like Best and North they have stood behind their products for me and had some things last a really long time, RRD also took care of me when I had a problem a few years ago, own some Slingshot products also never had a problem.

All brands have their supporters and their critics. For me the brands that have stood out are Wainman, Epic, North, Cabrinha and Naish. Ozone I have had issues with the products, our local rep and company is not great to deal with. Don't dislike the brand and would still buy their kites. Epic has been awesome to me as well as Wainman. Cabrinha and Naish have great quality in what they produce. North has amazing gear as well. Haven't been a fan of Best with a few lemons that I owned but it has been years since I have tried any of their kites so my opinion doesn't hold any merit. Got a varial x coming in so I am excited to see how airush fares.

Exactly.

I thought I was rather succinct in my saying of nothing.

Sorry, not into pimping or bashing and that is pretty much what your asking for.

If you need me to recap... Most are good but eventually your likely to get a lemon.

To answer your question. I've always liked the ones Im on better than the last ones.

Cabrinha kites seem to me the strongest made and best engineered for long term durability.

Then I'd say very good:

Airush
North

---
Average

Slingshot
Liquid force
Board riding Maui

Slightly below average

Switch

Anecdotal ranking, but from non affiliated everyday rider as per your request.

Cabrinha kites, never had a stitch come out.
Switch kite, after first few sessions some stitches loose.

This is only manufacturing, not what I think of any kite brand performance.

Almos you need to learn the definition of the word "succinct". Nothing in your post was succinct. It was as vague as you can get. Re-read the OP and either contribute or stop trolling.
