You are either doing a front roll with downloop, or a backroll with a kiteloop.

If you do a frontroll with a kiteloop (not a downloop as you say), you'd end up with 2 twists in your lines, rather than none.

Precisely :thumb:

The frontroll with a downloop where you go in the opposite direction like you say you (accidentally) do, is a really great move in fact - it can be done down the waveface on a waveboard, where you do the frontroll to land downwind a bit toeside going up the wave again after downlooping - and then you can do a cutback and you are set for another one, no lines crossed

Dragonfly / tautologies - thanks for the input - you are right... :thumb:

That's indeed an invert 360 down-loop (not kite loop) transition (although i cannot really claim credit for the transition which has got to do with lack of control rather than intent). I think I was getting confused on the downloop versus kiteloop story as I typically initiate the looping half way through the rotation (when i am in the opposite stance of when I normally fly the kite).

I'd better get the stuff filmed on a go pro to check it's all fine but i think i've got it now...

Better get on the water now. Hope Toby doesn't charge me $$ for getting free tips on the site !! :-?

Thanks okes for the input :thumb:

You have so many tricks you can do once you learn how to initiate a kiteloop.
But first you need to learn the steps of doing a kiteloop.

Once you get very confident kitelooping, then you can add some of the tricks like:

1.Kite loop with Bar spin
2.Front roll (towards the kite) kiteloop
3.Back roll (away from the kite) kiteloop
4.Board nose grab kiteloop
5.Front roll (towards the kite) kiteloop with a nose grab
6.Back roll (away from the kite) kiteloop with a nose grab
7.Board nose grab kiteloop
8.Front roll (towards the kite) kiteloop with a nose grab and bar spin
9.Back roll (away from the kite) kiteloop with a nose grab and bar spin
10.Board nose grab kiteloop and bar spin
11. One foot off Megakiteloop (working on these as we speak)
12. Blind to up side down back roll to kiteloop to landing blind
13. Blind to double back roll to kiteloop
and so on....

And then you have the Unhook kiteloops like:

1.Unhook F16 (which is a kiteloop)
2.Unhook Kiteloop handle pass
3. Unhook F16 front roll kiteloop
4. Unhook F16 back roll kiteloop
and so on...

Maybe these videos can help you understanding some of these moves.

Have seen this move done on strapped surfboard.Correct me if i am wrong but is he not doing a 540. Seen it done also in reverse start position toeside to heelside with downloop. So this would mean that the move is always initiated pulling the bar with the front hand? Remember also seeing two other downloop tricks. One is initiated from what is called a tabletop jump into aerial jibe. The other is like an aerial tack initiated from a half backroll. Done from either heelside or toeside. Basically six different ways to change direction in mid air.
