Since many month we are working on a big update of www.kiteforum.com !
Here you will find some pre-info, more details will follow once the site is live.
There will be some bigger changes. We still will use phpBB forum software, but everything else will be based on a social media platform. This makes it possible for a user friendly use of the site and its new tools.
Important: the forum has the login as always, with username and password, but the social part does not need the username, just your registered email and password.
All parts of the site will be responsive, this means it will work on your computer, tablet and mobile device! Therefore we don't update the kiteforum and splocs app.
A big change will also be the integration of www.kiteforum.tv (videos) and www.splocs.com (spots).
Here some further info of what to expect:
- a new home design which will show the latest info in a better visible way, for further info you can go to the according areas of the site
- the news section has a modern design with news feeds from kiteforum, companies, riders and events. As well as Instagram content
- the video part has all you want from a video page, including easy adding of youtube and vimeo links. All videos in kiteforum.TV will stay in an archive. All good ones have been transferred to the new site.
- the marketxplace is the area for your second hand gear as well as a free directory for schools, shops, room rentals, tours etc
- an event calendar so you won't miss any events in your area or where you are traveling to
- world's biggest spot database with some very cool tools!
- a very cool session log! Make sure to already log your sessions with pictures to add to the log. You will have great stats if you log it all! More details once it is live!
- a special store...more details soon!
- pictures can be easily imported from Facebook and Instagram.
Of course, the new tools need time and your input to make it really good and useful. I hope many will use it, since we will all benefit from the content!
If you have any ideas for cool tools, let me know!
Thanks
Toby
