Lets disregard all the times that you can't kite due to work and family commitments.
Lets assume you have the time and are available to kite.
Do you ever go. "Nah, cant be arsed today" when the forecast is epic?

It happened only once to me, few years ago we had 40 ideal kiting days in a row. Weather anomaly. There were 2 or 3 days where my bones were rattling so loud, I just stayed in the hammock.

All the time..
So many options do do fun stuff..
Kite is only one of them, and living in a kite destination where it almost always is windy makes it no stress to do something else if if its EPIC..
hey, its just kiteboarding..

I'm sure its happened to all of us. Usually work, family or injury, but by choice.... nah.
I've passed on too much wind. There are usually only a couple per season. I can remember two last year and two this year. Like 45 knots. I don't feel guilty unless it nice and sunny. That's always a tough one.
The only other times are when its cold and miserable. I'll go down to 8 degrees celsius if its crappy, and about 5 degrees sunny.
This fall I put the foil away for the cold season and have watched a lot of good days go by.... today was one. Next fall I plan on being competent enough to take advantage. Not the under 10 knot stuff, but 12+ I'll hit it. For now I'm happy with a record season.

Only when I absolutely can't get out of work...
And only twice I've looked at the wind and the water and gone, "nope". Wicked storm conditions, just too gusty both times, in that the lulls would have made a correctly-chosen kite (7m) impossible to ride in the lulls...

I do that many times.
If you live in Brazil for a longer time, you cannot kite every day..at least not me on my level.
I do a session for 3 hours full power, than need to stop for 1-3 days to recover.
But all those days it blows nicely...always hard to see when I pass by the beach...but..I know, tomorrow it will be pretty much the same

What needs to recover Toby that requires 3 days off from a 3 hour session?
Sore legs? rib squease? abs? general energy and fatigue?
I don't get it. If you are constantly kiting your body should strengthen up to meet the challenge. You should be able to do many 3 hour sessions back to back without needing days off to recover.

I never miss epic conditions. Even when we get a run of days I will kite every day. I will kite until my arms fall off then I will duct tape them back on and kite some more.

Winter here sometimes you can't kite the closest spot because wind gusts 30-60mph and its 35 degrees out there, but then the coast is 2 hr driving so thats not always an option either when you have to work. Though if I'm desperate I'll kite whatever conditions as long as I don't think its a pure death trap for my skills.
