Both 1 mm and 1,6 mm are flat as new (around 1x2 mm for the 1,6). Probably they will get round after some use.

Thanks, very interesting ; do you think that sk99 Liros DC161/DC pro are the 0.8mm diam that FS is describing, or do they use a grade that cannot be bought on the market ? It is really too expensive on FS website ...evan wrote: ↑Mon Nov 27, 2017 12:31 pmHad a sample of sk99 Liros DC161/DC pro that should be 160kg but could not get it above 130kg when spliced due to the fact it was a 8-strand line. DSM doesn't sypply the same thin yarns as the older SK-75 yet so the only way to get a thinner line than 1,1mm is to make it a 8-strand line and sadly that doesn't hold up to 12-strand versions when spliced.
On the 1.1mm 12-strand SK99 line i get around 300kg breaking strength when spliced so i didn't bother to take the 0.8mm one on stock as the difference in thickness i measure myself was too little too loose more than 50% breaking strength.
300kg SK99 line i have on stock: http://www.en.infexion.nl/shop/accessor ... per-meter/
Evan, which kind of splice did you make when break-testing it ? either a "double crossed" (autoblocking type) or a "simple path" splice (with the rope entering directly in the core of the other, FS type) because it will impact the breaking load of the loop.evan wrote: ↑Mon Nov 27, 2017 12:31 pmHad a sample of sk99 Liros DC161/DC pro that should be 160kg but could not get it above 130kg when spliced due to the fact it was a 8-strand line. Just a normal straight stitched splice of 25-30cm with a good tapered end, although stitching is not necessary for strength as the splice does not slip under load when it is this long.Regis-de-giens wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2017 3:14 pmEvan, which kind of splice did you make when break-testing it ? either a "double crossed" (autoblocking type) or a "simple path" splice (with the rope entering directly in the core of the other, FS type) because it will impact the breaking load of the loop.evan wrote: ↑Mon Nov 27, 2017 12:31 pmHad a sample of sk99 Liros DC161/DC pro that should be 160kg but could not get it above 130kg when spliced due to the fact it was a 8-strand line. BTW I am still surprised to find neither the FS 0.8mm SK99 line nor the Ozone 0.9mm Sk99 lines on the market. Shame. Otherwise I can go for 1.0mm SK99 for front lines and 0.9 mm or 1mm Sk75 or 78 on rear lines for cost saving .
