Yeah it is 10cm long and costs £1000, though your kite may stall mid loop.

Hopefully with a Microloop...

But, I also heard something, quiet a while ago actually.
Guess now it will hit the market soon.

Don't know anything further though. They keep it quiet. Must be really innovative then.

There is something innovative coming up, for the 2017 gear I guess?

I have seen the bar, it looks amazing. Unfortunately I did not get a chance to try, but hey, it's a bar. It still does the same thing, only neater.

Like each time something changes radically, some people love it, some people hate it. I really hope North keeps their Quad and Fifth Element bars, and offer the new bar as an alternative.

Mentioned on the "mono 2016" post: "new rotating-ends-no-depower-centreline bar"...
Curious to see what this is!
Did they come up with a depower on rear lines instead of front lines?

Yep, the bar we saw in September at Le Morne had fixed centre lines and depower /trim was effected by twisting one of the bar ends (RHS I think, but I only handled the bar once and mainly saw others using it).
There is a fuel gauge-type indicator in the bar (a window in the bar in which u see a coloured indicator moving toward either side...I think it was marked depower/power ....or something similar)

We initially couldn't get our heads around it but it seems to have a rotating spindle inside the bar that simply winds in/out the rear lines thus shortening/lengthening them.

Riders we spoke to had no problems with using it...but it did look slightly unusual with no cleat or depower system above the bar.
Very clean and simple look.

How it reacts to use and sand I don't know...we saw all test equipment getting a pretty hard time during demos and nothing seemed to fail or cause a problem.

We heard form one dealer that it was (in his opinion) a response to the idea of making things simpler (!) and having no trim strap/rope above the bar....

surprised its not out in retail as they all seemsed like production models, not protos.

Like throttle on a motorbike?

So letting go automatically makes it depower?

Well.... neat idea, but I'm not convinced it will last very long, and I wonder how your wrists will feel after a while...

Production Model = Production ie what you could go buy
Protos = Anything before production, and protos can certainly look like production stuff so don't make assumptions
