Does anyone use the Garmin Fenix as a GPS watch while kiting? If so, what do you think?

I have a Fenix 2. I like it because it tells me time and speed on water as well as heartrate when i wear the sensor. When i get home i can see my distance and track.
I also use it for MTB and general work use so I dont damage my other watches. Overall I am very happy with it.
Note: the elevation sensor is not accurate enough to measure jumps.

I use it for all of my kiting and it does a great job.
Sync's to the phone, uploads to the garmin website automagically and then allows me to access the stats and maps easily.
Does a nice job summarising all of your activities in a spreadsheet over any period of time.
The website is telling me I have had 120 sessions since August and travelled approx 2000km. Top speed was 42.3km.h etc etc etc

Not sure. I use Strava as well but it uploads automatically through the garmin connect app. (connected accounts)
Desktop allows you to upload a garmin file to strava, i used to do this with my virb elite.

I have a Fenix 2, and after about 6 months of ownership I have mixed feelings about it. I have had issues from day one with it not syncing to my pc, the menu interface is a bit clunky (lots of button presses to get where you want to be sometimes) and the screen visibility sucks in low light. I mean it really sucks. If you use any of the analog watch faces that are available as a download, the second hand disappears after a few seconds of button inactivity, apparently to preserve battery life (which is idiotic because the seconds are displayed in digital mode). Also you cannot display your speed in knots, because Garmin reckon that if you want a nautical watch then you must buy their Quatix nautical watch, even though the nautical function is pure software which could be added to the functionality of the Fenix 2 as a simple download. However, this would then make their Qautix redundant. So, in short, I would not buy one again.

Id like to hear about what GPS watch people are using when kiting. In particular, i want to know the live speed that i am foiling at. Not really interested in downloading, etc. Visability and simplicity would be great.

Crikey, $500? I keep buying $9 watches that get ripped off on a regular basis when I crash...losing $500 would suck.
