Same here. 1000 bucks is crazy for any TT.

Most Shinn models can be had for USD 800 or less from the usual UK based resellers (King of watersports, 24-7 boardsports etc.). Keep in mind low GBP currency and remember to take 20% VAT off the website price and be aware that the ship cost can be very reasonable (I got my Speedball from 24-7 boardsports in 3 days to Taiwan for USD100 ship cost. And got great service to boot (questions, emails etc.)
Sorry if this upsets US resellers, but in my experience UK resellers are great and will buy from then as long as GBP stays low

I got all of my Shinns from Chris Gatewood at Kite Naked in Benicia California.
He was a Shinn Dealer and a Wainman Hawaii Dealer.
I think he has pretty much stopped selling kiteboarding gear....too bad.
AOK Sports was importing/distributing Shinn from Tybee Island Georgia, and I believe they went in a different direction from selling kite gear as well.
Air Padre still sells Shinn I think, but they were getting them from AOK, so I'm not sure what their source is now.

Yo, this is Mike from AOK. We are still selling Shinn and can get whatever anyone needs so just hit us up if you have questions about pricing, boards, etc.
