Damn! i could have a 9,5 hours hangtime on the Dubai - CPT flight too!!!! I wish i got the bar in my hands...maybe next november though
remember it only counts as a "jump" if you use words like "mega" and "longest" or "super". make sure to hold the control bar and say "Mega!" "Hyyyuuuge" then instead of being a stupid stunt it's the longest jump ever.
I would say the longest controlled are what the snow kiters do. There was a guy a few years ago that rigged up a Flysurfer Speed as a paraglider and had a video of some insane airs. I tried finding the vid but could not find it.

No that's cheating because they are using the top of a mountain for height.
Not really cheating. They are on water even if it is frozen and using skis or a snowboard. I would say towing is cheating. And I might add the consequences of a mistake are far worse than a water jump.

Agreed..
but remember that naish vid in the early days with top hat and the guy called eric?
I met him once in Molokai. He'd just thrown his early C kite for a land based jump on the beach while the crew waited for enough wind to ride - wasn't even hooked in, and a thermal got him...
Then he was gone... landed in bushes close to the neighbouring airport - was aloft for over a minute.. unhooked!
