I saw you mention ESE wind before what majority, is SE vs ESE? From the looks of it you mostly ride with the wind dead offshore but some times cross off?. What gear choices do you find works best? Small kite big board? And what are your recovery options when it goes wrong? Swim?

Yes, ESE!!! It's ideal direction for Le Morne. Here is statistic (2009-2016) of wind from weather station in airport of Mauritius: http://wx.ikitesurf.com/map#-20.43,58.072,10,1,!63101,8

All waves in Le Morne work better with offshore and side offshore winds. Epic day is when wind ESE and swell SW.

I prefer Cabrinha Drifter 5.5 for very strong winds, 7m for strong and medium winds and 9m for light and medium winds. For very light winds I prefer surfing without kite ;) I use board Cabrinha Proto 5'10. My weight is 80 kg. Statistic of using my kites is 9m - 60%, 7m - 30%, 5.5 - 10%.

For recovery we use safety boat or self rescue. Next my video about "when it goes wrong" ;) Just now start upload. Please wait few hours.

Thanks for the information. Offshore riding is not something many people do so any info on it is very valuable. I look forward to your future videos. :thumb:

One other question do you ever ride up near Paradis or does the land mess up the wind too much coming offshore?

Yes, I prefer Le Morne. Best waves are here. But if wind change direction I use another spots. Map here: 6 best kite spots of Mauritius - https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mi ... sp=sharing

Sorry you lost me a bit with your answer is that a yes you can ride at paradis or yes the wind is too offshore and you can't ride there? I am trying to relate your conditions to other spots I know. Спасибо.

Wow that video is crazy . Been there done that! Whos fault was it? May I suggest an impact vest so you don't drown. I was amazed you bargained with him on the water! What was your next best price? LOL!

Wind directions when I can ride in Le Morne (beach Point on this map http://prydeclub.com/wp-content/uploads ... 80x720.png): ESE, SE, SSE, S, SSW, SW, WSW, W, WNW. For winds E, ENE is best beach in Bel Ombre or Riambel becose its too gusty and not solid in Le Morne. For NNE, NE winds is best beach Pointe d'Esny. For N, NW, NNW is Benitiers.

My kite got torn to bits right there. Packed it up and swam back to shore. The boat offered me an ridiculous price (tourist price) so I just swam.
