That's a BAD idea ; those sand anchors don't work nearly as good as a Military Surplus
Duffel Bag , for $20 ; and then Ya got a place to store your wet gear when you go home.
A Duffel-bag filled with 50Lb sand, or rock ; will slid a bit before the bridals get ripped off your
kite.

Billie,
This is the exact method I use, except I would very highly suggest putting 200-400 lbs of sand in the bag depending on conditions. It really doesn't take that long even with your hands to put that much sand in their specially if it is wet. I throw a plastic food thingy in it and use it as a scoop and it grabs about 10 lbs per scoop. The good thing about this method in my humble opinion is if the bag doesn't hold up it only slowly slides across the sand. It's held my 17m in 18mph before with no movement.

I have a free plastic bag I got on ski vacation, kinda like an Ikea bag, but the webbing handles goes all the way around. I just fill it with sand. Works fine.

if you are launching from the same spot regularly, attach a cable to a 5 gallon bucket (not to the cheap handle it comes with) and bury it deep. it will never move.

Dig to put som sand in it, then slide the bag in the hole, fill it some more, bury it a bit. Not going anywhere with the kite at edge of wind window. I only have about 35-40 kg in mine, but it's half buried.

I like the duffel-bag the best ; but if i'm using a solid anchor point, like a tree or
car bumper , i always use (2) lines to the kite.
1 for the safety, so the kite has something to flag-out on ; and the second line
goes to the chicken-loop , (but that line is NOT as strong as the safety line) and
will break at about 1/2 the tension for a fuse-link that won't harm the bridle attachment
points before breaking.
I went to that system , after watching two people loose their kites in a tree, from
a broken tether launch, on a car bumper.

Just get a tree anchor! Use a tire iron to screw it in or weld a bar/handel on it. I use old ones but new are at garden centers . I have left them at launches for everyone to use but someone always takes them

it can be inconvenient when there's a screw in anchor left at the beach. way too easy to snag a line on them. If you do leave your anchor at the beach please put a colored flag on it and make sure it's highly visible or bury it.

I always put my kite bag and board bag around the handle so they don't blow away and so the hook is more visible.

just get one at a building supply store, no handle but easy to weld one on or simply stick a pipe or metal bar in the loop to turn.
