That is exactly the point where the kite bends during sending for jumps or hard edging when underinflated.
Or inflated "almost well" but the rider 100 kg+

I agree. I've been riding SS Rally since 2012 and currently use 2014 and 2016. Only time I have had a "folding" issue (once) with a 2014 Rally 8m is because it was under inflated. Plenty of big riders out there on small Rally's. The damage shown is from much more than folding. To rip that way it must have been inverted, under inflated and extremely stressed.

100% under inflated.

I still ride my SS 2009 rev once or twice a week..... and never had this problem.
Slingshot is reknown in the industry as being bomproof gear..... and it is..... that's why I ride their gear....

Now.... if you swear that you don't under inflate... which most people do, especially coz they don't want to pop their new kite that they treat like a baby...... but if u did, your kite should 'ping'loud if you flick the LE..... or..... when you're pumping, your upstroke (pulling the pump upwards) with the pump should be almost impossible..... give it 10 or so extra down strokes ( I do 20 sometimes and 30 for my 15m fuel) ..... your kite will ping like a mother trucker.

If you swear that it was pumped correctly, then the previous owner has obviously crashed it or done something nasty..... this is the risk of buying a 2nd hand kite.
Maybe he rode it under inflated?
Maybe it was thrashed in the surf?
Maybe it's been many things?

Dude, that kite was beat on before you owned it. Could have also been a manufacturing defect or material failure...maybe they stitched too close to the edge of the fabric. But, it's not a design problem, it's just shitty luck for you. Happens when you buy used, you take that risk. If you'd bought it new, you could just send that picture to SS and they'd hook you up.

Just send it to AIrtime kite repair and don't give it another thought. For $150, you'll have that kite back soon in tip top shape.
It's not even worth debating what caused it here, it wasn't you.

Good luck and I hope you enjoy the kite, once repaired. :thumb:
