I own the imperator iv. I also owned the nomad ultra wave. These are both different boards
Although I canot comment on the Carved I would add that you are comparing boards designed with different uses in mind. The Nomad wave TT is more aimed towards wave riding than would be the Carved. There are not much options on the market for wave TT’s, way more options for freeride boards.

For shure you must know what you want when you order a custom made board, like surfing or windsurfing, and you canot xpect one board to do it all. I know im the chap with 3 Nomad boards, 3 different sizes that I share with my Wife, decisions I applaude on each different trip. Gear for Cuba is different than for Brasil, riding 6-7m or 14-17m sails. Mine are built with 2 set of pad inserts and I use them both depending of location. Use std Simon distance and a bit shorter.

No doubt, a carbon board is a luxury and will not make you a better rider, it is to be enjoyed however if you choose the expense. This said my wife commented that she progressed faster in wave riding after mooving from her Poison to a Nomad wave TT, perhaps more the shape and flex than the carbon. For those budget tight Nomad has a lower tech less expensive series.

Cheers !

As it happens I effectively have no budget limitations. But I disagree. As I said earlier:

I've had carbon fibre boards but do not like them because I find non-carbon fibre boards provide better damping in choppy conditions.

Thanks iriejohn for your post , i have tried a Nomad kiteboard and found the board to be very smooth in choppy conditions , much smoother than a production North board i used on the same day , i have also tried a crazyfly carbon board and found that board to be very difficult to control in choppy conditions , the board was continually being knocked off course and transmitted every bump through the knees.

Maybe you should be more detailed in your post , not all carbon boards are the same , there are large dynamic differences between makes..

I can’t wait for Pana and his wife to start selling their Nomad boards to get this year’s black... :thumb:
