"Country of origin: TW" could mean it's ChangHo (although it's made in China, not TW), but HOYU are too making PU coated 40D polyester ripstop.
Price wise it's a bit expensive at 12 euros/m, but for the convenience of buying without MOQ, it should be OK.
For a project I'm about to start soon I may get the 3x ripstop from Challenge.
Or spinnaker polyester ripstop from Contender for the light wind sizes (~30gsm). Any thoughts on this?

It's coming from Gaastra and is also used on their kites

There is a very thin panel at the wingtip. I think it could be merged with the second panel so kite would have two panels less. Or perhaps even three panels from the tip could be one, as we know there is not much if any airfoil shape (needed) near wingtips.
Then kite would have less parts, seams and sewing. Apparently panels follow LE segments, but of course it is not mandatory.
I like how wingtip shape and kite in general is

They could easily be joined in the CAD program before printing the plans. But it's a good idea to add a "join_panels" function to my 3D kite software to join small panels automatically if the width is below a defined value.
I'm not sure if the leading edge diameter at the tips is large enough for a strutless kite to keep the tips upright after the kite has been washed by a wave.
And what about the size? Is 5.2sqm too close to 7.2 (
Agilus 7)?
Any thoughts?

Looks great Pantau
The curve on the leading edge wingtip looks very neat - is it purely aesthetic or do you think this results in any performance benefit?
good point about the small panels kitexpert - if the wingworks program does not amalgamate the panels maybe I can do it manually when marking up the material?
Good thought about the wingtip resilience in waves - however my experience after several years of several brands of strutless is that they are very prone to inversion in wave dumping conditions anyway, so as I am looking at a primarily hydrofoiling kite i would prefer the most efficient and light kite so that it does not end up in the drink in the first place!

No doubt panels (or patterns) can be joined also manually, if and when seam allowances are known. But even better if "join_panels" function can be added to design program.
In general smoother the kite is the less drag it has. But there is limits in that of course and best design is a sensible compromise. Increasing panel count too high makes kite laborious to manufacture and only gives marginal improvement.
In small kite like 5m I value most usability and ease of handling. Thicker LE makes kite less wobbly and more stable in the air, I think that is more important than how it survives in the waves. Ten years ago thinner and more conical struts were more common, nowadays it seems rigidity is more appreciated.
I like size difference 5m to 7m, not too close to each other at all.

yes , forgot to say, i think 5 to 7 works very well as a step, as experienced in several quivers of other brands. What about next step down? 4?

Ok so I reduced the tip diameter a few mm. See the diff:
Agilus-5
The extra segment in the wingtip should also make the sewing easier. I don't expect any performance improvements.
I will join the sail panels in the CAD program (takes me a few minutes) and put the "join_panel" function on my todo list. Winter is coming
The Ventus in 4.2 has still a lot of pull and is too close to the 5 so the next smaller size should be around 3.8.
Do you want to build both sizes together to save some time?
I will finish the DXF and PDF of the 5.2 on the weekend.
