I am just about to make the jump to the Ride Engine Harness, but wanted to see if anyone who has experience with it can speak to boosting with the slider bar. I certainly do a fair amount of wave riding, but still use the twin tip about 70% of the time. Mainly jump as big as possible, few loops here and there, glide/drag tricks and rolls. Simple stuff, but curious how the slider bar will impact this.
I know most people will say "you just have to try it" or "get both the fixed hook and slider bar" but I would just love some people who like to go big but have used the slider bar to continue doing so to take me through their experiences. Thanks!

I used one for 2 boosting sessions on a TT. Incl. some kiteloops.
No problem when in the air. The chicken loop stays where it was when you launch the jump.
Found that sometime just before landing it slides when you position your body, but not a big deal.

No issues whatsoever with the slider. You'll never notice a downside to it. Boost big, love the toeside.

No real downsides to a slider. Bit different for a couple of sessions, then its normal but better.

I have a dynabar slider, I quickly got used to it. But a friend just got RE and says he can't do strapless airs any more, can't seem get used to it. Though I am sure with practice he can, if he wants to.
Another friend with dynabar slider, same experience, doesn't use it for bump n jump strapped sessions.
I love my slider, use it full time and would never go back to fixed....but some are not as big fans.

Slider works ok for boosting, but I prefer a fixed hook. I prefer a slider for surfboard and light wind, but when I'm on a twin tip in heavy winds, the fixed hook seems a give a somewhat more predictable landing. For me, the slider is great when I'm riding toe-side, but doesn't offer much otherwise.

I love my ride engine carbon, but i only ride strapless and don't do big jumps. Here is what happened to a friend who did big jumps with his hydrofoil and a carbon slider bar.
the knot on the rope got detached from the slider bar from one side and then the harness cracked.

mz16, I found that the first 2-3 sessions felt a bit odd when I boosted as you may hang from a different point. But then you get used to it and it's a non-issue. It's weird...for me it went from incredibly annoying, to not noticing it at all. I think I also shortened the slider line along the way, which helped.
I also put a rolling hook on my slider line which I really like.
