Best cities in the world to live in for kiteboarders

Postby Kitemanmuc » Tue Jun 21, 2016 10:39 pm

I know this has been a very highly discussed topic already, but I just wanted to see if there might be some new input. I have only found comments on cities in the US good for kiting, but would be curious to know what people think as far as best cities in the world to live in for kiters.

It's the other way round. Kiteboarding more than any other sport saved me living right where I am.

It's the only viable boardsport in the immediate vicinity. Got a big body of water? Your good.

Cape town for sure.
Great wind, waves, vibe.
Well developed infrastructure.

But with hydrofoil, the picture changes.
Auckland, city of sails, too light for regular kitesurfing, and generally too onshore.
But fantastic for hydrofoiling, excellent proximity, superb variety.

Taipei, Taiwan. Wind 12 months a year (300+ days). Waves and flat water spots. Great food, safe place, nice people.
