The Cabrinha Fireball (New Connector Safety Issues)

This thing just cuts your hand in pieces when you open the quick release with your hand round it.
A bolt that flips/shoots out under enormous pressure and with speed, cutting through your wet skin like hell, down to the bone.

Happened to me on my 2010 Cab Bar with the same mechanism.
Why cant they have a safe QR like North etc?

This is very poor for 2016 gear, given the fact they had 7 years time to find a better solution.

I am not crying about something here - I just think that a designer should always design a piece of equipment with safety in mind, so you can use in a normal, functional way without thinking twice how you need to grab/release it without getting hurt...

The main QR mechanism/pin is pretty much identical in design to the 2008-2014 models. I've released those plenty of times without a single issue. The only way you could get cut is if you kept holding on after releasing. Not sure what you're crying about.

This new design seems like it'll work fine. Doesn't really interest me enough to change from the hook and/or slider rope though.

Hi Macisback, to post this you must have tried this all new system and all new release mechanism - right? Why not post your review? Otherwise you are just hating on something you've never seen or tried without actually knowing the design or operation of the mechanism.

Yeah, it's completely different from the old system  (What about the 'setting the new reference' with the latest CL release? Not so much reference apparently if they're reverting to the previous system now... )

Old Ozone releases could cut your hand too btw. Pins just suck.

I checked my 2007 and 2012 mushroom releases, and the pin end has somewhat sharp corners. Some grinding is due, thank you for warning!

The idea makes sense, time will tell on how this design has been executed. Unnecessary beginning to the video however.
