Yep. Some guy reaches up and pulls one of my steering lines. It was a light wind day, no biggie, but I couldn't believe it.
I explain to a random older guy what I'm going out to do and he says, "I think you're soft in the head." I say, "That's why I'm wearing a helmet."

Yeah, f***, I hate these people.
Also on the news I also got a subtitle under my name as "Expert Windsurfer" (I've never windsurfed in my life), and the lady was explaining how dangerous it was to be out. It was like 30 knots lol
I've not been in the news, except for the paper as a "parasailer," but I get this same kind of shit.

On the beach. Kiter has a powered 15m Bandit at the zenith, old guy standing in front of him chatting. Old guy grabs the bar, the kite loops and . . . BOOM body check!
I didn't hear what was said though I bet it was something like, "I want to feel the power."

Not sure this counts as a bystander but
Every one out on 6 & 7M kites, guy in front of a 17m kite asks
Can you launch me?
Sure, no problem but let me get a camera. The police are going to want to know what happened....

Slight variation of the "is it not too windy today" when still in single digit wind speed.
Standing on the beach with a big surfboard and a 12m kite deciding whether I am wasting my time or not. Tourist walks up to me and says:
"Nice weather for that, not too windy."
At least he understood that it was not windy, but somehow though that you have more fun flying a kite when there is no wind

That can be fun to do with a good friend who knows what they're doing

A person stops with the car whilst i get out of the water!
At his 50's with a huge belly, then said: "Can you give me to try, it would be nice to do this as i will be able to exercise"
Then i said: "You need lessons, it is dangerous to do it without certain traning"
The person said: "Ok how much is it to by such a kite, 50 euros is it enough?"
