Jazuz, why was his kite still looping?
Obviously in the power zone created by the beach terrain.

We rarely jump on the kite when someone is in trouble, right? The first thought is to help a person.

I'm convinced 99% of kiters, including myself, would do the same.

It is obviously a horrible tragedy when someone dies and my sympathies. The fact that it was a 7 meter kite has been emphasized, presumably to point out he had a "small" kite? In the foiling world, that is a big kite and used when the wind is in the low to mid teens, depending on rider size. (I use a 7 meter at 11 knots). When the wind is 20, experienced foilers are in the 3-4 meter range and 2-3 meter kites when 30 or higher. Foilers deal with significantly less kite power for a given condition and this lowers mortality risk.

The most dangerous sport is to stay at home. Your wife will for sure drive you to a shopping session with your credit card and you'll be a dead man.

What i meant to ask was his kite stuck in a kite loop.. eg bridle wrap, bar wrap.

I have chased someone stuck with a looping kite for 1km + ( sideshore) they only just made it.. I managed to get to leading edge.. as kite was looping lower after 100+ kiteloops.. my friend jumped onto his back to try and slow things down.. but just couldn't hang on + risk of multiple kite tangles.
