The new software update let me show the tide on the clock face. That's what I had been wishing for. Stoked.

@pmaggie
The Sport watch band has turned out to be the most secure watch band since those ugly Velcro watch bands surfers wore 20 years ago.

I've also been wearing the original and unintentionally have been kiting, windsurfing, and swum with it, I've got it in one of those armour cases precisely because I couldn't trust my airhead to remember to take it off, but here we are a year later still functioning, my only issue well two issues, the battery life means you have to take the charger thing with you travelling and if you are without mains for a couple of days you'll find it a timeless experience. The other thing I use this sail race timer app which is bloody useless because the 70 sec awake mode doesn't always function so it switches off just before the bloody gun and you don't get the countdown.

Polar has few interesting products. I have V800 and at least it has profile for kiting, wake, surf and so on.

Flagship V800 https://www.polar.com/us-en/products/pro/V800
New device that could also work for kiting https://www.polar.com/us-en/products/sport/M200

Old thread, but I just saw that there's a kite app for the Apple watch. Looks like it does everything a woo does but also with gps tracking and heart rate. Anyone tried it?

It helps to provide the name of the app.

Which watch and OS version are you using? This should definitely install on Watch OS 4.0 and 4.1 which are the latest two releases from Apple. The app is only compatible with Series 2 and Series 3 watches, as they are the only ones with GPS and water resistance.

We've added kiteboarding to the Sessions watch app. You can track your kite sessions with speed, GPS pathway, distance in session, max speed, JUMPS and AIRTIME. As soon as you land a jump, just glance at your watch and you'll see your last jump height, airtime and max speed of the session. Afterwards, you can review your session in the iOS app and see all the jumps from your session on the map with individual data per jump. You can also review each jump with interactive 3D graphics that show height, airtime and landing G's.

It's also totally FREE!

Download it here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/xensr-s ... 76251?mt=8

*You need an Apple Watch Series 2 or 3 running Watch OS 4.0 or later.
*Watch OS 4.0 is only compatible with iOS 11 or later.
*It also tracks surfing!

Cool app! Will try it next time I kite. One problem I noticed is that, even though you can change units via the phone app, on the watch it still shows imperial units.

BTW, can you comment on the jump height accuracy compared to xensr device?
