Rescue is free, always. The organisation relies on gifts.

Name and shame is perfectly fine here considering the kooks willingly put themselves in harms way while they could just drive to a different spot which is 10km away.

As for the volunteers of the KNRM, most of it do it for the thrill and willing to contribute to something. The fact that no-one has died doesn't rule out the fact that what they do is dangerous.

Whatever, I'm done with this argument, 90% of the kooks getting into serious trouble over here are tourists from mostly Germany/France/Belgium and they ruin our spots which are already under pressure. The fact that they put themselves in harms way is their own problem but let them do it in their own countries.

Give me a name of a "volunteer" from that organization who died. What was his name? no one ever died and you know it.
Corbett follow the link below and you will find 69 names of volunteers that died during a rescue in the 190 years of history of this organization.

that's why we should gifts here and then to keep them going.

For sure they did a great job rescuing these guys who really f***** up.

Common sense needed. This also applies to replying on here...the topic is now cleaned from bad posts.

BTW - what a great rescue boat...guess it is the best to have for these conditions and the jobs they do.
And great that they film the action...so one can see what tuff job they do in these conditions...safety goes first for them for sure...too bad to read so many have died because others are careless.

What do you think regarding naming and shaming? they showed the gents face? not professional is it?

Who wants to dial 911 or whatever if they think they may face public humiliation on camera? people kill themselves over this.

Are Gore pictures and videos totally fine then? if someone is careless crossing the road and gets hit by a vehicle, lets enjoy watching the video of it?

In some countries, you're not allowed to photograph even just a car wreck. Some Incidents and all accidents are a private matter, ideally.

Why do you think they close whole motorways in some countries when just 2 lines would be fine? respect for the victim whether he was at fault or not.
@ Corbett:
Glad to read some sense came in to you again :allbegood:

I can see the point you are raising. two things:
A. How do you know they have not asked the resued person(s) for permission?
B. Educating people about risks can save lives. The 50% most stupid people tend to be more sensitive for video as communication medium than for written text (as on this forum). Do you feel the privacy of one kook does not balance the live of another kook? Take into account that all the not kitesurfers surrounding the rescued kook will believe his claims he was just unlucky. So what is the harm done?

Can you give me the name of one person that killed himself over the public humiliation of a rescue caught on camera? I gave you 69 names on your request. Your turn now
