Question for the surfboard experts out there. I was wondering how bad these heel dents look, is my board about to snap in half or does it have some life left in it? A friend wants to buy it from me, and I just got a new board so I don't want to make any repairs, but I don't want to sell him something that's going to snap in a week. Would $100 or so be reasonable for the condition?
I can take more pictures without the horrible green wax if needed, I've been meaning to get that stuff off my board asap anyway

It could still work for a long time....it could also go. How does the surface feel if you push with your thumb?
I think anything that doesn't look like it has buckle cracks $100 is reasonable....(check the rails).
Just tell the guy what your concerns are...I mean its a $100 and I think if you are upfront about everything its perfectly reasonable. If the price is anything less its not even worth selling IMO>

The deck feels like new, just... shaped a little differently
It's actually kind of nice because you have a groove for your foot to sit in comfortably.
I don't see any kind of cracking in the rails that would indicate buckling. I really just wasn't sure how much "compression" the deck can take before it weakens the integrity too much.
Thanks for your advice!

It'll be sweet. So long as there's no de-lamination it should still have enough structural integrity.

As long as there is no delam, the board should be Ok for regular surfing. It looks like a standard P.U. Merrick board. So probably has a double 4 ounce on top and a single 4 ounce on bottom (unless it's custom made or over 6'3", then possibly a 4ounce plus 6 on top) Either way, probably won't hold up for kiting unless your friend is really light or he's rides it gently. But hey, it's only $100.

To me it kind of looks like the stringer is sticking up a bit. To me at that stage they are pretty snappable, whether they also have heel dents or not. Your mileage may vary...
