Looking for Pure Freeride board

Postby Magic19kiteboarding » Fri Feb 17, 2017 8:11 pm

I am looking for a Kiteboard Similar to the Skywalker Dimitri Pro Rider 127 X 37.5 cm. If ever you come to Cabarete soon and have a FREEDRIDE board to suggest .. I would like to try it, could your personal board or if you represent a shop or brand. Board must be SUPER LIGHT WEIGHT, with a VERY NARROW STANCE max 130 cm and not wider then 40 cm. with SUPER SMALL FOOTSRAPS and COMFY FOOTPADS with a good grip. I never got to find a FREERIDE that I like as much as the Dimitri Pro Rider and I would like to find something similar. I have an other kiteboard for FREESTYLE. I am really looking for pure FREERIDE that carve well in waves and has great POP for jumps but stays FLEXIBLE preferably without rigid inserts and smooth ride in chop. Any suggestions ?

"has great POP for jumps but stays FLEXIBLE preferably" Which do you want? Can't have both if you are actually truthful on what has pop. Anything with carbon though will offer better dampening performance.

Incrementally over the last decade boards have gotten longer, especially dedicated freeride boards. With the exception of some women's specific models and some "crossover" models (all-around), almost every freeride board on the market starts around the 132cm length. With that said here are several models to consider...

Epic Spartan 129x39 Note that this is Dimitri's "freestyle" board, but his "freestyle" is not your typical freestyle of today, so this board may be very close to the Skywalker.
Shinn Monk Gold 129x39
Shinn Monkette gold 127x38 (women's)
Liquid Force Aloha 129x39 (women's)

Here are some 131cm boards that could also work for ya...
Airush Diamond 131x38 (women's)
Cabrinha Ace 131x38
Wainman Cruzer 131x39

That's about it, outside of going custom or finding NOS (new old stock) or used boards. Good luck with your search! :thumb:

Have a look at the Nomad.

Have a 150 Wave twin tip. It is super light and out performs anything else, that have ridden.

Just try one, am sure, it will exceed your expectations. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Get your hands on a Nobile NHP (you can get the wmn if you really want it in 131) or a Shinn Monk (again you can go with the Monkette for the tiny size)
Both of those boards are awesome and have great attributes and are super comfortable.

If you can find one locally or order one the Clash Reincarnation is also a joy in all conditions.

Good luck

The Mako 135 needs to be in this conversation! :)

Mako boards are designed carve hard, suck up the choppy water and deliver amazing edge control for huge jumps. The Makos all feature a ton of rocker so the 135 feels like a 130 underfoot.

I encourage you to search "Mako" on this forum to see how many other riders out there love this board for pure freeride enjoyment. Please feel free to PM me if you want a demo.
