Is there a possible, safe way to remove sharpie magic marker from kite canopy? Some guy I bought a kite from thought it was cool to write his initials. He also built some old velgrove holder on inflatable portion for a go pro. I would also like to remove these large strips and there adhesive. looks ugly, but worried about fabric.

You could maybe try lemon essential oil. I'm not sure what it will do to the fabric....so definitely try on a small out of site piece first. Shouldn't harm a bladder. I would be tentative using any other chemical that will contact the bladder.
It is about the mildest natural adhesive remover I've found. It didn't eat any epoxy when I've used it on boards.

+1 xylene
if using lemon oil make sure it is really that,
not lemon-scented mixed mystery hydrocarbons. A lot of citrus themed cleaners are really almost gasoline plus extra alcohols scents and dyes.
BTW good to keep all these away from glue. And bladders at least imo...

I would leave it just as it is, any chemical you use is probably going to damage the fabric in the long term.
