Shorter Bar Kiteloop

Postby Kitemanmuc » Tue Mar 07, 2017 5:37 am

Ok, so this might be a silly question. But hypothetically, will a 42cm bar loop a kite slower than say a 49cm bar, same line length. Or is the difference marginal?

Yeah, that's a silly question. Do the trig, it isn't hard.

The question was more along the line of is it noticeable?

If you do the math:

A 42cm bar at 90° (maximum steering) is equivalent to a 49cm bar at 59° (which is visually about three quarters of the way).

Feel free to do the math for the other angles.

When I was learning kiteloops on my 11m fuel..... I was using a 23" (60-65cm) bar from an old 15mREV.

You'll look like a bit of a dick, but who cares...... I would advise anybody learning their first powered kiteloops to get the biggest bar possible.

You owe me a beer bro!
