@flaps1111 - Not answering for Peter but I can say I LOVE my 6m Ultra - have never had a bad session on it. I am running 12/10/8/6/4 Ultras currently, there is quite a bit of overlap to be honest. I am 80kg. For me on a Groove Skate and 800 or 1000cm2 wing the comfortable wind range for the 6m is from 17/18kts up to 26 or so. It is just one of those sizes that is really forgiving, has great drift, very loopable but also good waterstart power . WAY more forgiving than my v3 Reo 7m used to be for foiling . I also just rocked out a Vmax of 27 knots with the 6m Ultra last week ( on Spitfire XLW) so it can certainly perform .

So in summary I think a 12/9/6 Ultra quiver should have you going from 8kts through to mid 20's kts easily.

Just my two cents, hope it helps.
Eventually I bought a 6m Ultra. now I've found that I want to ride with the minimum power possible, I can ride the 6m ultra in 12-14 knots, do comfortable downloops in my tacks with a Moses 633 . So I'm thinking to buy a 4m ultra or a 4.4 gong unik for days with 18-24 knots.

In your opinion what is the low end for the ultra 4m?( I don't know why they put the range of this kind of kite for a 75kg rider with a twin tip) I weigh 80 kg.

I've been playing with 18m lines with my Ultras and I love it. Tested on 12m and 9m so far.

I've got a question though, the 2 times I used 18m lines, and 12m went into water (need to work on my downloop timings), the briddle got stuck at the tip - this has never happened before. Was it a concidence or the line length could be at play here?

I don't understand how you can ride 6m in 12-14 kts - I guess it's the riding style but I prefer to be powered for the amazing wave downwinds on my 633. 12-14 is problematic actually as it's a bit too much for 12m and bit not enough for 9m but with 18m lines I'd go for 12m.

I also don't understand how you can sail with 18 meters, once I did a test with a 12m kite and 20 meters of line and I didn't like it at all, there isn't window to play, you can't fly the kite ... for ultra 12m now I use 30mts is much more comfortable and for ultra 6m I fly it with 25 meters of line and it's so fun. If you go overpower with a hydrofoil is the most uncomfortable thing in the world, only a rookie would not know the difference, at least if you only mow the lawn.

I must tell that to at all the rookies participating in competitions on 12m lines 😂 when I'm on 12m Ultra with my 18m lines they are on 18m foil kites with 12-15m lines. Rookies! And rookies at Core just released new foil bar with 16+2+4 lines (which I want to get to my Core bar that I use with Ultras).
No matter how long your lines are you need bigger sail to go downwind with power, especially on waves.
Peace, rookie ;)

Perhaps you should measure and add the bridles of the race kites. Very funny to see how a racer couldn't do a waterstar with 15 m lines and a 9 ozone r1 v2 in 7 knots at the beach while I was comfortably riding in my ultra 12 and 30m lines.they same racer another day with 19 meter r1 v2 and me with the 12, obviously he was faster than me , both same weight.

I found this on a seller website:

DESCRIPTION

2020 Airush Ultra V3 – Preorder for Stock arriving early October 2019.

Perfect freeride foil capabilities.
The lightest kite we have ever made.
Improved high-end performance in larger sizes.
The Ultra V3 has redefined our lofty expectations of what a kite can do. The light weight and stability have opened up places we could never have kited, in marginal conditions we would not have considered kiteable.

With unbeatable performance, weight saving features, and an exclusive Airush Load Frame for maximum durability, the Ultra kite has been the go-to kite for foil riders, wave riders and snow kiters alike.

When considering the Ultra evolution, a focus on segmentation reduction through the canopy and leading edge Lightweight Single Strut geometry increases the skin tension per panel. Fewer segments result in more tension between each segment point. This increases the responsiveness of the Ultra V3, while maintaining stability.

Same like Ultra V2?

Did someone know more differences between V2 and V3?
Best regards
Alf
