I ditched that little grommet/ring too. It was challenging to get the line unseated from it, but where there is a will, there is a way.

Thanks, have you done so and was there no wear and tear because the floater ring seems pretty sharp!
By the way, has anybody got rid of the black power ball on slingy bars? It comes only with the guardian bars. And what was the effect?
The ring on top of the floater does feel a bit sharp but I left them on and had no problems over the course of two years. If doing it again however I'd remove those odd sharpish rings.

Stripped of the heavy swivel, the Oh shit handles and assorted metal hardware and now works with equal length flying lines. The original leader that had the sharp edge grommet on it is now larks headed to a knot (under the floats) in the replacement home grown rear line leader you can see going to the rear flying lines.

Thanks for the input.
@jumptheshark: You have no dick and certainly ride with a rope. Don't you find it annoying to use the depower rope ponting down or do you turn the bar so that the depower rope points to the top?
By the way what would happen, if I only get rid of the black power ball above the active stopper ball? Could this cause some dangers?

Had to take a guy to hospital once who had partially removed most of the skin from his middle finger - from using a Slingy oshit handle in surf. You really need to be careful with them and I reckon thats why most brands have not adopted the idea.
Nothing wrong with pulling on a rear line but those handles encourage you to put your fingers in them and thats the problem.

Hi,
can anybody comment again what could happen, if I get rid of the black power ball (the one above the active one)?
Would you recommend to also take off the "oh shit handle" from the safety, dangeling below the bar attached to the ring/leash?
