Skate progresses because its practiced by kids who have yet to close their minds.

Kiting is too expensive, conditions dependant and gear intensive to get any more than the rich kids.
What Starsky said. f*** I had some 20 something dude who works at facebook try to haggle on prices of kite gear today. Homeboy is definitely not progressing the sport.

The reason wakestyle stuff is more expensive is because it cost more to make on average (alot harder to make a board handle and perform for Hadlow's riding than your average KF rider) and it's not a volume play, and most kite companies don't have enough volume elsewhere to cover/ write off that loss.

Manufacturing wise it makes little difference, it's a volume thing for sure - if you don't price it high the volume is so low on those models it is not worth doing.

working for facebook is a good reason for not selling him any gear at all IMO :-0

I think the biggest bastardization of any trick is the s-bend, watch that Lou vid here

THAT is an s-bend.

That's an s-bend. All these guys claiming double s-bends to blind is utter nonsense.

/different thread needed for that!

For me it's been staying active as much as possible - biking, kayaking, yard work when there is no wind. And avoiding extremes in everything which has been a challenge. I tend to overdo things like staying out for 2-3 hours straight without a break. Also important is a good diet taylored to your metabolism and health issues (avoiding food that cause inflammation - hard to do).

It's never been an issue of name. It's only about what is and isn't lame.

A killer long powered slide can be pretty fucking cool.

Obsessing over filming yourself do it 600 different ways is lame.
