Ireland in September?

How is the wind in Ireland in September? I have family out there and want to know if it is worth planning a side trip for kiting. I'm mostly interested in waves, and don't mind the cold too much.
Best spots? (sounds like west coast but I couldn't find much information online).
How many windy days per week is typical?
Is board rental available?

We visited a couple years ago in May & I planned to rent a board. I did not set it up ahead of time and had trouble making it work while I was there - most of the outfits were not yet up and running for the season.
Can't recall the names of the stores - one was in Galway, one in Dublin, and one in Sligo, that all offered board rentals. Just recommend you set it up before you go. There is a great beach south of Galway on the west coast that will have excellent waves in a west wind, also think the Galway beach has good waves.
There are Facebook groups for kiteboarding in Ireland - should be able to find someone there that can give you an opinion.
have fun - we loved our time there & I did manage to borrow a board and get out riding one day and had a blast.
