@a99 and DKsurfer: Don't apologize for having an opinion! We're lucky enough to live in a free world (or at least, most of us are!) and having an opinion and being able to express your opinion we feel is part of that freedom! We are curious though what you feel is strange about the name TEN Kiteboarding? Is it that different than North, Ozone (you should look up the meaning of that as it smells;)) or many other brands out there?
As you're wondering why "TEN" I've included a part of our brand document (which is also stated on the homepage of our website but some people might have missed it;)) which give you a little inside in why we chose our name. (you're still wecome to disslike it or express your opinion, we're not all alike and that's a good thing. Otherwise we'd only need one brand and one kite as we'd all like the same stuff. That would be the most boring thing ever!)
@FransiscoCP: Passion really sums it up! Being an entrepeneur in the kitemarket for almost 10 years we learned the only way to survive in this market is by having a lot of it! It's hard work, long hours but nothing makes us more excited than opening a new box of samples, riding them for the first time, trying to wreck them over and over again and simply talk, sleep, eat and think kiteboarding! Passion is also what made us go for this new adventure and we hope to be able to share it, learn from it and enjoy it for many more years!
TEN is referring to the number 10, it embraces the moment that we consider something whole, complete and perfected.
By using the word TEN instead of the number 10 we subtly state that our products are not just a technical execution. they are the result of personal experiences, deepest wishes and full dedication to kiteboarding in all aspects.
The head of the crown is built around the classic shape of a kite, the one that got a lot of us infected at a young age. The 3 elements combined create 10 corners, 10 edges.
The logo is designed around the idea of a stamp, the one that approves excellent work, proud, ready and eager to finally meet the world.
