Did you ever consider relocation?
(or changing to SUP)
In my case the winds are better: 6-10 knots, but straight on shore with 3-4 ft break.
My pain is the looong process I chose for riding in those conditions (HFoiling)

I took a fall in white out conditions at Snowbird in April. You could barely see your feet, never mind anything around you. Freak accident.
Had surgery 6 weeks ago and things are going well so far, but I have a long way to go, PT for a few months , then just take it easy, nothing heavy or strenuous till after 6 months.
Honestly its a bitch and I would not do surgery unless you have no choice.

I've recently changed job to one 45 mins from the ocean. (previously 2 mins) So no more mid week kiting for me unless I take time off.
My technique is to ignore the weather forecasts web sites and visualize that its crap conditions when I cant kite so.....
That way if I don't know Ive missed a awesome session I cant be pissed about it.
