Low Budet Freeide Kite

Postby kiteseppl » Wed Aug 02, 2017 6:40 pm

Hello everyone,

My old LF Envy 9qm from 2012 is dying so i want to replace it with something that fits my Bar (LF Mission Control Bar)
It should be Low Budget and it should be a freeride kite this time. I found the envy to be a moody cow in strong winds.

was looking at a Gaastra Spark 2016 or a Best roca 16/17. What are your experiences with those kites compared to the top brands?
Also can you confirm they would fit my MC Bar?
are there other affordable kites worth looking into?

Cheers

This is a good deal on a kite that handles gusts very well.

rocas are good kites. I also love my Naish Pivot for a do-everything-well kite. Handles gusts amazingly well. You might be able to get a second hand one, or if you can wait and are in th US, check REAL's fall sale (although they seem to be using a lot of Core kites this year, so might not have as many used Pivots on sale as the last two years).

How about a new 2015 Best TS 12m for $369?
From Best on eBay.

rocas are great kites, there are a few other threads you can check out for details

if you like the envy other than its high-wind performance, you could look at a new one. i've had a couple envys throughout the years and the 2015-16-17 ones are totally different from those older ones. they have great top end and boosting performance now but still have a similar feel.

switch element or nitro is also an option, great kites especially if you can't find something else on sale

I think that batch had some bladder problems.. thus they are trying to get rid of it.
Check with them if you can get a spare LE bladder or factor it in to the cost of the kite ;-)
