Alright, I don’t know about the bubble bath but can agree to an end of season or periodic rinse.

For an ultralight kite in light wind conditions it can make a difference to wash the salt off if a humid environment. The salt will pull water out of the air and sand will stick. Especially true for a foil kite. Maybe every 5 -10 sessions I will rinse and dry because sand is starting to stick or the cloth feels perpetually damp. Downside is rinsing and especially drying is UV exposure and therefore aging. As above, never put a kite away if wet with fresh water and generally the less you do to it the better.

NEVER rinse your kite. Rinse your bar thats it. this is after salt water use i know nothing about fresh water riding but ive been riding the same kites since 08 and they all are in great shape minus lots of bladder repairs

Kiting in salt water, I rinse my kites maybe 4 times a year. I'll rinse all at once, when conditions are perfect for drying. It's not necessary, but it is a good way to inspect your kites for wear and tear.

I usually do it, I think, after not having kited for a while. Just need to stay in touch, I guess.

thank you all!

I was just having the doubt that was better not to rinse the kite from salt water, and all this confirm make me think is the best approach

for sure I normally rinse the bar and harness

Rinsing your kite wont do any harm to it infact I think its good for the kite as it gets sand particles and any other contaminants of the kite . Also its a good time to have a closer look at the kite for any damages and so on. there is no study that saids salt water and sand particles are good for a kite . Only stipulation is don't use soap or use a very mild solution for stains . I wash my kites once a season.

I usually kite in salt water off sandy beaches. I don't wash my kite, but I think it's a good idea to occasionally blow sand/salt/etc out of creases (LE, struts) with an air compressor. Lots of abrasive material gets lodged in the crease between the canopy and the LE over time. Good to blow it out.
