LOL a lot of cowboys shooting blanks on this thread
You know getting offended is actually a sign of weakness, but then shooting blanks on top of that, wow takes a special kind of loser 😂

Is Apple made in China?

"Assembled in China" (designed in California)

Huge difference than the "Made in China" label. Thats what you pay for.
Special label for people like Liquid extasis. :D

Anyway, you cannot compare a kite with a computer, a cell phone, etc.

I dont know if the chinese factory where Apple is assembled could do the latest Apple technology without the californian design.

But I do know that the Sri Lankan factory could make today the latest Core kite without the german design.
Huge difference.

I'm just going to leave this right here. It's pretty funny how sensitive people are on this forum, especially considering that most of us are "men" LOL

But its just an opinion, coming from a sensitive "man"

If you call me an Serb I would react. If you call 'a bunch of Serbs' some factory people in Croatia, you would offend all of them. Same
with Greeks if you call them Turks (same origin, right?). Same with many many many nationals who actually care.
If you are speaking of respect of nationality, then let me be politically incorrect and question why nationalities/countries should get their respect unconditionally? When you see a delegation of 3 people of some forgotten island on Olympic opening ceremony, are you amused, entertained, annoyed? Or, perhaps, proud for them for boldly hijacking attention of 7 billion viewers? Let me be even more politically incorrect and suggest that my respect to a nation/ethnicity is directly proportional to the number of Nobel laureates they produced. From that perspective, alohas lost my respect with their 30 meters telescope ordeal. Ceylonese, on the other hand are fine; at least I'm not aware of them blocking any progress.
Right. Shall we call Tibetans a 'bunch of Chinese' people now? Do you understand the connotations of that?

Koreans - Japanese?

Or an Catalan a Spaniard? Irish - Welsh - Scot - English? Dutch - German? The list goes on.

On not so serious note, I know how to make a kite :) Looking forward for some sewing !

Oh, the electricity you're enjoying now comes from Nikola Telsa, an Serb born in Croatia. Nobel price you say? Edison was better in marketing, for sure, he was a Yank and Nikola was an immigrant. Nothing new here. Old story.

Just had a revolutionary marketing idea for the kitemakers.

"Designed in XXXX - Made in Japan - Assembled in Sri Lanka"

If I am not mistaken Teijin Technoforce is made in Japan. I am sure you could describe sewing a kite as "assembling" pieces of fabric that have been cut to a pattern.
BAM! Not made in Sri Lanka anymore. Everyone is happy.

Would be nice if the discussion would not be about racism etc, but kites.

Carved is the premium brand from Hiss Tec (Core), custom made boards in Germany.

I agree, let's end this racism, and any other kind of degrading comment. Like I could be talking about how fruity sabraxas looks with those cookie cutter shorts on in his icon and that girly looking leg pose with his board, but I don't. Because he might be gay and that would be making fun of him. Core kites where originally designed and made in Germany, that's why they have expanded to other parts of the globe for production, which has fooled many of us on here into believing they are from Sri Lanka, which they may be duplicated in, but not made originally.

Thanks for posting that great video merakite, it shows how kites have come a long way
