Screw the board, you need one of these

Image
Oh I get it -- everyone at your beach thinks you're a swell guy cos you're too much of a little pussy to mouth off to people's faces like you do in here.

Onya.
No I'm very blunt with everyone on the beach too, but the difference between them and people on this board is that they know what's behind it. When I am blunt with people on here, they think I'm a hater, but there is a reason I am so blunt, and that is so they will get their act together and learn something. I am doing this for their own good.

And I know that treadmill comment must have ruffled your feathers
You're not blunt, you're just dull.

So you'll be the giant know-it-all cock on the beach that other people tolerate because you're just not worth the effort. Sad!

I don't think you need a treadmill, maybe kiting in 40F to 70F with 2 to 3 hours session should be good enough, often find myself grabbing big breakfast, skipping lunch for session and too tired to grab a full dinner on good days, definitely get bigger calorie deficiency on those days than treadmill.
In most case it's easier to loose weight avoiding gym and just improving food and drinking habit...
I kited quite a few sessions with a GPS watch with an HR monitor and burned calories are much much lower than doing aerobic exercises such as running.

Of course it depends on your riding style but even throwing a lot of tricks my HR remains quite low. 1 hour of MTB burns more calories for me than a 4-5 hour kite session.
But the real shock is foiling... my HR remains very low you burn more calories dragging your stuff to the beach from the car than during the whole session ;)

I bet he is the social outcast of his beach (if he ever kites in reality)

Weird! This may sound blond, but ballet isn’t aerobic yet gets me in shape better and faster than pretty much anything else.... maybe kiting is similar?! in my experience the calories that matter are those you take in, not those you burn. The more you eat the bigger you get, period. Nothing wrong with big, a cool person can pull off any weight and still look hot, but that seems to be the contingency

Yeah, losing weight definitely helps a lot! Not just with unhooking. Crashes are easier to withstand too if you're fitter! I really noticed my riding improve with even less time on the water. I went from 105 kg to 90 kg.
As for the shallow waters, I don't really do a lot of tricks when it's just ankle deep. I've got a few friends who've seriously wrecked their knees that way. But you should look around for the big boards. From 140 x 41.5 and up, especially with boots. I'd recommend to wait with boots though, until you've got the basic unhooking down. Backroll to toeside, frontroll, railey to blind. I see so many guys riding boots too early and really limiting their progression, because it just hurts more when you screw up. But if you do want to ride boots and ride in the shallows, the Slingshot Vision 140x43 with the middle size wakeboard fins was it for me. Just the right combination of skatey and grip/control.

Did I even say anything to you on this thread? Or did you come up to me and start being a complete dick because you are offended over something I said in the past?

I'm not the bad guy here, it sounds to me like you have a weight problem of your own and are offended that I brought up the treadmill picture.

The truth is, I never even thought about you when I posted that picture, I was trying to help the OP realize that if he wants to get better at kitesurfing then he needs to start losing weight. Has nothing to do with your fat ass, so stop harrasing me and trolling this board with your senseless comments. Nobody wants to hear it

Disagree. One Foot can come out of straps while doing an unhooked trick and mess up an ankle. Nothing wrong with boots, especially if you ride wake and cable.

Hey, doh!, what board are you using now? I don't qualify to give you an opinion based on your criteria (I'm 80 kg or so), but I can try to get this thread back on track. :-? You asked about boards. :o If your kite quiver ranges from 7 m to 17 m, then I'd suggest you'll need at least two boards. The smaller would be 134-135 x 42-44, and the larger would be 140-144 x 42-44. If you ride on lighter wind days, grab a strapless directional as a third option. At your size, you'll almost always want the extra width in a twintip. Length is less important, but shorter will be more nimble and fun for your unhooked tricks. :thumb:

You saw the title: why is a pencil-neck like you in here at all, let alone posting? Oh right, you're a know-it-all blunt cock. :thumb: Just another pointless LFAK comment. Sad!

Kamikuza - we've been here before. Don't be offended. And don't feed the troll with anger. Not many on this forum give a crap about his blatant display of lack of tact. The few of us that do.......well LFK can be quite entertaining to watch operate in his own little world. And I can guarentee you life has been, and is, much harder for him than for you.

Treat LFK with kindness and respect. Letting him drag you down with him will only reinforce his mentality and make him worse.
