Airush wave kite hindenburg

Postby Bill » Mon Oct 23, 2017 3:51 am

I have a new 2016 airush wave kite. A couple if times when starting off the kite has folded up and started to drop from the sky. I have managed to recover and then its ok. Am using a flexifoil bar equal line lengths with front lines meeting low down at the swivel. Think it may be caused by me over sheeting when starting off or maybe kite hitting a lull. Anyone else experienced this?

Thanks

You write "Hindenburg" which describes when a kite tucks and drops forward.

I assume this is not what you meant, but that it backstalls and folds ?

Sounds like too much rear line tension, just sheet the bar out and see if that works.

If, just add pigtails at the kites rear lines and it will fly perfectly :D

Agree with Peter, back lines too tight. Push the bar away and the kite will fly forward again.

Plus, what was the wind speed was it enough wind for the kite size?
Maybe not enough wind and back lines too short = you kite backstalls

the lines really are all exactly the same length when you pull the bar all the way in?

How much air do you pump into the kite? They need to be 8psi - there is resistance when you try to fold the LE ? Not soft and easily foldable?

Thanks for replies much apprecited. Yes meant backstalls and folds. Was on 7m and very windy def enough for kite but could have been in lull acerbated by me sheeting in to get some wind. Will look at things you suggest to get sorted.

Thanks...Keith

Been riding Waves for 4 yrs, if that’s happened to you it’s definitely back lines too short/ shrinkage. Check ur lines as the Wave flys brilliantly with correct lines.
