Hmm. Have you tried moving knots on bar? From knot B to knot A? If so any good?
Also the Torch in 14m how is the upwind ect. Compaired to 12m? Thinking of having a quiver of 10,12,14. At moment I have the 10 and 12.
Thanks
the knots on the backlines will make sure the kite will fly correctly. attach the line to a single point, hook in to the loop and lay back creating tension on the lines. make sure the lines are all equally long and full power, the bar set at the end of the depower, touching the c-loop.
should look like this..

Don't agree with the way to check bar settings mentioned above.
I have 2013 Torch 12m with shift bar. Last year I mentioned that flight characteristics had changed. So I attached all 5 lines to single point and went back creating tension, found out that the bar was closer to the trimmer.
Fortunately I have the same all new shift bar never unpacked which I always take with me as a spare one. Did all the same procedure with new bar and discovered that the bar was right in the middle of its track between c-loop and trimmer.
So I made conclusion that power lines on my old bar had stretched out. I lenghtened back lines by tieing them to another knots so that the bar returned to its middle position (between c-loop and trimmer) when all lines have max tension, and the kite began to fly perfectly again!
I want to say that correct settings when all 5 lines are attached to one point and tended are: the bar is in the middle of its working range, not near c-loop.

Hi. I have received 2018 Torch 12 m2 (only kite without bar) and compared it with my 2013 Torch 12 m2. Indeed 5 line bridle which is from the side of the kite (not from the side of the bar) is shorter: 2 black lines on 2018 Torch are 172 cm each against 175 cm each on 2013 Torch and 1 yellow line on 2018 is 72 cm against 78 cm on 2013. All this Y 5 line bridle gives 227 cm length of 5 line from leading edge against 236 cm on 2013 kite. So its 9 cm shorter and you need 9 cm extension line.
I have contacted to Ewan Jaspan and he answered that Torch isn't less powerful than its ever been. 2017/2018 had only issue the 5th line being too short. You need to add 5/10 cm depending on the size.
