It's not low friction when you have the words 'Jay' written in raised letters
In the image showed the JAY word is raised only 0,8mm on the perpendicular area of the ring and the rope curve doesn't touch it becase of the inner curve of the ring.
However it can confuse so we changed it by embossing the JAY word
JAYSlidingRing.jpg
It doesn't matter, even if you embossed the word there is still texture there that will wear down the rope. You need to do away with the word Jay all together.

There's no smile at the end of your post ; so i'm gonna assume your serious ?
Dude -- the cord slides in the U-channel ; so the raised letters don't add friction !!

No, this can also be used in a sliding rope harness, and the inner part of the ring will wear down when it touches the letters, you are wrong again.

This post was started to show to audience a new way of distributing kitesurfing parts.
The price of the parts is still high but shipment costs and pollution is low because produced and sent from your country.
For example a product made in China has a low cost but has to travel a lot before arriving at the shop and the cost/pollution will be high too.
Another benefit is to find product issues like LetsFlyaKite is trying to find (we planned issues in advance to show how it works
) and improve product quality and features.
We hope other kite companies will follow our initiative and bring benefits to customers.

I can't see how rope can get anywhere near the "Jay" lettering, would you please draw a picture showing how this could happen? Thanks.

Wait…what? You’re claiming to reduce polution? Rubbish (literally)! Plastic is choking our oceans. I’m not a fanatical environmental activist. Far from it actually. But you cannot use “reduce polution” to sell an idea that creates one of the most dramatic polutors on the planet. Calling BS! Please change your pitch.

I think you should Google about 3D printing and recycling.
When we talk about pollution we mean the one generated to move one item from production place to your home.
It is a small saving but it is a starting point.
Plus you produce only the plastic who is really needed without filling shops of unsold items, normally they go into the waste basket.
Plus this plastic can be reused if you recycle it the right way.
To solve the problem you mention ask people to stop throwing rubbish in the sea, stop buying kite equipment or other items made of plastic.

Sure. I suppose someone could claim that clipping toenails reduces pollution, so we should all buy toenail clippers. I get ya.
Anyway, on the the next point: Some of our parts and pieces are put under tremendous physical load. I can imagine much cheaper, much more abrasive, much more dangerous low-resolution FDM models made from PLA showing up because people want these things cheaper. Everyone should be aware of what this means if they go down this road.
As an alternative, both of the alternatives below can be purchased based upon lab tested strength characteristics.
This works just fine:
as does this:

Right. I knew it was SLS printed from the images. I’m certain it will be great for a long while. I was referring to you advocating the printing of the “at home” as you did previously. People are unlikly to spend $2000+USD on a printer for this purpose. But they might try to print it on their $100 printer…that’s where the trouble comes in.
