That makes perfect sense iriejohn.
I've also seen lots of folks steering their kite into the ground, kind of a controlled crash, and then after the kite is down grabbing one of the back lines to pull/pivot the kite so that it's facing directly into the wind. Obviously a reasonably clean, hazard-free surface is needed, a grassy area or nice sandy beach for instance.

I flew my Best GP 2013 9mtr kite my my North Click bar 2018 worked great right away, y split was set up for 2017 Vegas flew perfect. Anybody tried the Ocean Rodeo bar, looks comfy.

You can fly almost any kite on any bar with 4 equal length lines. Just make sure that the "Y" is in the right location.

I flew a XR3 with a with a low V split Liquid force bar before and it was fine no issues
