tried a shotgun side by side with a boardschmiede and the boardschmiede is much better imo !

The nice man delivered my Lieuwe Shotgun yesterday and my Entity (NTT) straps fitted perfectly with exactly the stance and duck that I like.

Because I mostly kite on a sand beach, to stop the straps abrading the deck with trapped sand I cut a pair of 1mm neoprene sheets to fit between the pads and the deck.

All that's needed now is wind ...

Not that I don’t approve of a little home-made ingenuity but if sand is going to abrade the deck surely it’ll do so by getting underneath whatever is there, whether it’s the pads themselves or your extra layer of neoprene...??
Excellent choice of board and straps though...have you got the latest NTTs with the new Velcro-free attachment? Massive improvement imho...

I figure that because neoprene is relatively soft fine sand will get embedded into it rather than being ground between the hard undershell of the pads and the hard deck of the board.

Nope. When I saw the latest style I even bought a spare set of 2017 NTT's because I much prefer them over the new Velcro-free adjustment NTTs.

Interesting I really like the new design and I can easily make sure both of the straps have exactly the same setting / size, plus it never slips or unexpectedly opens, admittedly a rare issue with the last ones. Plus the blue looks nice with a red Lieuwe...

Can anyone of you compare the shotgun and the oceana and the saynomore with the Duotone/North TS or with the Brunotti Youri Pro? What are your thoughts? Im planning to ride it with boots...
there is one dealer here in CH, so I hope to be able to test them...just need to wait for the wind.

Better, hand made, individual, fast, great for boosting - Say no More is heavy and strong so really for the wakestyle guys, Shotgun can be ridden with boots as well.
My Lieuwe board compared to North / Duotone boards is a similar comparison to my handmade Icelantic skis compared to eg Salomon skis. After 10 years of regular riding, with regular care they are still perfect, the edges are great, bases strong and they perform as well now as they ever had, amazing stiff flex at speed, I could go on...

I agree with what andylc says...it's just a quality product. Oceana and Say No More are more focused on wakestyle and are therefore stiffer. If you rather boost big go for the shotgun. If you want both worlds you now also have the shotgun Carbonara which is basically the Shotgun with Carbon layers (so stiffer).

Anyway you can't go wrong...think their website also gives most of the info you need.

You'd have to fight me to get this board off me.

Putting thin neoprene pads under the straps definitely works, because when I took the pads off to fly to the Caribbean in February there was no sand abrasion of the deck of the Shotgun.

And by coincidence Duotone have recently started selling thin pre-cut plastic sheets to stick on boards underneath NTT pads to prevent deck abrasion! lol
