Try an Alkita board www.alkita.fr, and you'll never go back. I'm totally hooked!
Playful boards, crafted with passion, that last forever.
Freeride isn't about riding in straight lines...

My favourite board is the one I made a couple of months ago. First I was inspired by Mako reviews to 3D design a similar one and I rode it almost exclusively for almost 2 years. Then I got a WOO and designed a new one. 200mm shorter (1300mm), still lots of concave in the middle, lots of rocker and I'm absolutely loving it! I'd like to be about 15kg lighter (I'm 6 foot and 98kg) but I've upped my PB to 9.1 on two different jumps yesterday and I'll keep working at it. Hopefully my rails will last longer this time too because I used Kwila wood inset into the Paulownia for them this time.

Every single Tomo I've ever gotten on.

Vanguard: magic (rode it until I snapped the non kite rapidfire construction in half jumping it, it's now back together as my foil board)
Vader: although my current one is a little too big, ridden the correct sized and it's magic. Pair it with some of FW fins and you can easily do the steezy Stuey K style blow tail to slide turns, yet still carve big lines.
Evo: MAGIC. Even my 5'1" surfing version can catch some waves easier than my 5'1" Baked Potato that has 5L of volume more
Nano: magic (at least for regular surfing, never got a kite version)

Baked Potato: so much fun for small to even 5-6' waves for some reason.
DHD DX1 is a pretty damn fun board with wave that has some proper curl to it.

North Jaime was a fantastic right in the middle of just soft enough to freeride comfy but, stiff enough to unhook and pop well.
What fins are you running on your evo?

Mako, by far the best twin tip for me. It's perfect for the times when we have no waves or it's really sketchy kiting conditions, we often have days when strapless riding is more testing than fun!

Vanguard when the waves are good. I have a 5'6". Kite construction. Paddle surf it as well...

Evo when the summer small wave season is all about blasting around in waist to head high slop. I have a 5'1". Kite construction.

Imperator 6. Just sucks that it’s black. Expensive to lose.

Either FCS Performers or the AM2 (I need to get some with carbon as they hum at kite/ high speeds). I'm starting to try some Reactors, but need more time on them. Also the Split Keels can be kinda fun. Actually tried them as twins and that thing turned WAY too fast so want to try it with a tiny little thruster rear. I REALLY want to get some fcs2 FW fins as I LOVED them on the vader in futures boxes.

Know what isn't expensive, and not black... spray paint or sign vinyl
