I have a small puncture in the bottom of my Sector - V2 I think, from about 2008 maybe?
I stood it up along side my truck and wind knocked it over. It hit a small rock sticking out of the pavement when it landed and punched a nickel sized hole in the bottom.
What is the bottom surface made of and what is the best method to repair it?
thanks for the help!
Mike

I agree. Marine Tex is the way to go. I used it on my V-1 about 4 years ago, and it's held up just fine. Same issue--the wind blew it over onto pavement that had a piece of gravel on it.

What does it look like inside the hole? White bead type styrofoam? I'm pretty sure that's what's in the core but you might have a high density thin layer of other foam as part of the skin. The above advice is good. Just, whatever you do, don't use polyester resin like some surfboards still use, and like what is widely still used for autobody repairs. That will certainly melt any styrofoam, and while maybe it might be OK for some other foams on the outside, it's a risk I would not take.
Put the resin on and then cover it was thin plastic wrap. if you tape it out smooth you can take out any wrinkles and hopefully get a smooth finish without sanding. Use a pin to make a tiny hole to let any air bubbles out from under it if needed. Maybe a flat smooth weight on top of it might make it smooth too.
