Btw sheet and go is great...but not a requirement to learn. For me sheet and go type kites are great for beginners...but it is also great for strapless surfboard tricks and the likes...
If you are going for freestyle I think you'll do well on the dash. Its not that hard to ride it.

The Dash is a high-aspect kite. So for a new kiter it will most likely...
be hard to relaunch
hard to self-launch/land
and will easily "Hindenberg"

Find a used, cheap, low-aspect (wave style) kite...much more forgiving and you'll progress very fast.

Then in 6 months, if you're still wanting to jump high; get a Dash.

I started kiting this time around last year. Had a 2 days course where I started to get the hang of waterstarts the second day. A friend of mine bought the Dash and I tried it, very nice kite.
Very stable, good feedback at the bar and fast reaction on steering.
After that I bought a series my self, and been very happy about it.
I haven't had any problems of it falling out the skies.
And I actually think it relaunches quite easy.

So I wouldn't hesitate to buy if it's a good deal.
I love mine and will keep them until they are ready for the trash can :)

My seller found the forum topic

Lesson learned - don't tell the seller of a product that you asked about it in a forum :D
